Andrew Dann, CAD Manager, ODG HADEN Rail

I have been with the Company since March 2010. In my role as CAD Manager, I look after the other four people that make up our team. Our primary role is to assist the Signalling Engineers to produce complete sets of design/construction/as-built drawings for the ODG HADEN Rail projects. These are mainly signalling schematic/wiring designs, although our diverse backgrounds enable us to provide a full in-house CAD service encompassing civil, structural, mechanical, mapping & electrical drawings. We try to be a "one stop shop" for all of ODG HADEN Rail's design requirements.

The large scale projects we work on definitely sets a hectic pace for our small team. It’s a demanding job to deliver multiple designs, each requiring highly customised individual standards. While meeting the challenges provided in my role is very rewarding, the best thing about working in the Rail group is the people. It might seem to be a relatively small group, but it is made up of some very clever people who are helpful, generous with their knowledge and extremely dedicated and committed to delivering projects to schedule.
